Snowmass Rodeo
The Wild West lives and thrives at this first-class competitive rodeo in Snowmass, CO that runs every Wednesday from June 15- Aug. 17, 2011. There are family and kid friendly events, famous BBQ buffet and real rodeo events!
The Western Heritage Museum opens at 3pm and goes till 5pm. Rodeo Grounds open at 5pm and Rodeo Events start at 7 pm! See these fearless cowboys and cowgirls compete in events like:
- Saddle Bronc Riding
Invincible cowboys show their stuff while buckin' steeds try to dump them in the dirt!
- Team Roping
Two cowboys compete as a team in the roping of a steer!
- Bareback Riding
Wild & free! No saddle, no stirrups, no buck-rein…no nothin’
- Barrel Racing
Feel the speed as horse & rider make hairpin turns around barrels!
- Bull Riding
Get ready for the most dangerous event of the rodeo! If a cowboy can stay on an angry bull for 8 seconds, he can be a winner!
- Dally Ribbon Roping
A thrillin’ race from the chute to catch a slippery fast calf and grab the ribbon from its tail.

- Before the Rodeo Activities: 5-7pm: Bring the little ones to the Petting Zoo, or let the braver ones try to ride the mechanical bull. They will get their feel for roping with steer head roping and all these events are Free. If your little buckaroo's want to get the feel for a horse take them to ride a pony for $10!
- During the Rodeo: Calf Scramble
Parents & spectators delight while the little ones chase calves around the rodeo feild to try to pull the ribbons from the calves' tails!
Provided by the famous Hickory House Includes Danish baby back ribs and smoked chicken with sides of au gratin potatoes, cole slaw and baked beans. Beverage and dessert included. Buffet runs from 5pm-7pm with the saloon opening at 5pm. Buffet is $18 and Sandwich Package is $9.
