A Perfect Day in Aspen/Snowmass...

There are many kinds of 'perfect days' in Aspen and Snowmass...whether it is a casual day with the family, the ultimate extreme sports day, or a day of gastronomic delight. We've asked some of our employees to describe what would make their Perfect Day.

Aspen Skiing

For Skiers

"My perfect day in the winter would be to wake-up in January after 6 inches of light, white powder has fallen. The day is sunny! My husband and I head out to the Highlands to ski. We start off with a cruiser to warm up. Then my husband starts his hike up the bowl. We agree to meet at the bottom of the Temerity lift. After a few more runs we head into the Merry-Go-Round restaurant to grab some soup. Then it’s back outside to soak up the sun. At 3:30pm I start heading down to happy hour at ZG Grill for a good glass of Pinot Grigio. Can’t get better than that."

Linda Bongiorno, Operations Manager

Aspen Family

For Families

"Wake up and it’s a sunny Saturday in the middle of summer. Grab some coffee and a bagel at Ink Coffee and then walk my dogs and my 2-year old over to Herron Park and let the 3 of them play in the water. Then, head over to the Fountain in Aspen’s core where she can play with all of the other kids. For lunch, my husband, daughter and I would head over to the Tavern and then head back home where she would take a nap and we would sit out on our deck and read. In the afternoon, we would head back into town to catch the last part of the Farmer’s Market, then head back home to meet the babysitter, and get ready for dinner at Syzygy. Busy day — but perfect!"

Hike Aspen

For Sightseers & Hikers

"It’s a perfect summer day in Aspen. The sun is shining brightly and there is not a cloud in the sky. My husband and I stop by the Butcher’s Block and buy a light picnic lunch. We pack our picnic in our backpacks and we catch the next gondola car up to the top of Aspen Mountain. It is a glorious day and there is not a better way to see the town than from the gondola car making the slow trek up the side of the mountain. We spread out our lunch on a blanket at the top. We take in the amazing scenery and we enjoy our time together. Later in the afternoon, we take the gondola down the mountain and head to Mezzaluna for a mid-afternoon drink. We sit on the patio and watch the world walk by. It has been a perfect day and oh so relaxing."

Ashley Wright, Operations Manager

perfect day for bikers   For Road Bikers

"Blue skies, a fresh dusting of snow on the Maroon Bells, golden aspen leaves as far as you can see, the rushing sound of Maroon Creek, an eagle soaring above searching for an unsuspecting fish, and the deer and elk meandering throughout the meadows. This is the experience from my bike as I climb up to the 9580ft elevation overlooking the lake at the base of the Maroon Bells. No cell service just me and my camera taking pictures to capture why this place is so special….Just as perfect is spending time outdoors with family in this magical environment reminding our kids how fortunate we are to call this home."

Aspen Snowboarding

For Snowboarders

"Wake up early on a Saturday in the winter, and catch the bus over to Snowmass. Grab a Breakfast Burrito and a Red Bull at Fuel when I get there.  Catch the First lift up on the six pack to the top of Snowmass. Epic powder runs in the A.M on “The Cirque”. Grab Lunch at the Ullrhof on mountain. Get some bluebird turns over on the “Head Wall” the afternoon. Head down to Sneaky’s or Junk at the base to have a few Fat Tires. Then head over to Aspen to enjoy the legendary nightlife!"

Geoff Lubin, Group Sales Manager

Aspen Fishing

For Fishermen

"Last night around dusk I caught 3 fish in 45 minutes in the Basalt Area, one Brown over 14 inches. For anyone that understands what the ‘Green Drake Hatch’ means, it’s what’s happening."

Dave Parker, IT Manager

Aspen ResortQuest Pet Friendly

For Dog Lovers

"My perfect day would start with a good night’s sleep, followed by a hearty breakfast of eggs and toast.  Next, I would take my two pups for a hike on Buttermilk Mountain. Although the pups and I would be tired, we’d perk up to walk around the Farmer’s Market, with of course a bag of fresh kettle corn in hand. After buying some fresh organic fruit and vegetables, we’d continue to walk around town and take in the beautiful scenery. To keep our energy up, we’d swing by Ink Coffee for a latte and a slice of the amazing vegan chocolate chip pumpkin bread it sells. And of course there’s no better way to cap off a great day than opening a bottle of wine, having my boyfriend make a great dinner, and watching a movie."
