Aspen Santa Fe Ballet is heading into a second decade of performances which leave audiences begging for more. ASFB is a uniquely structured and multi-faceted organization, founded in 1990 by longtime Aspenite Bebe Schweppe. It not only is a nationally recognized dance company, but a leader in the dance world in terms of repertoire, commissioned work from top choreographers; but it is also one of the largest dance presenters in the country, welcoming the best in dance in both Aspen and Santa Fe.

Back home in Aspen this February, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet premieres a new ballet by the gifted young choreographer Norbert De La Cruz III. A recent graduate of Juilliard's dance program, De La Cruz was discovered by ASFB Artistic Director Tom Mossbrucker during last year's New York auditions. Promising to be a fresh new voice in the choreographic world, don't miss this young talent as he begins to rise. Also on the program is Jorma Elo's dramatic work- Over Glow and one of ASFB's signature pieces, Nicolo Fonte's enduring ballet, Left Unsaid.

In the midst of their 15th anniversary celebration, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet returns home to present a program of pioneering contemporary ballet. Featuring a newly commissioned work by the inimitable Jorma Elo, a new acquistion: Kiss Me Goodnight, from Catalonian choreographer Cayetano Soto, and Jiri Kylian's iconic Stamping Ground, "Colorado's best dance company" (The Denver Post) will change the way you think about contemporary ballet.

The evening will feature excerpts from Romeo and Juliet, with music by Prokofiev and Nicolo Fonte's Where We Left Off, with music by Philip Glass.

As one of the most important dance companies in South America, Cisne Negro effortlessly combines originality and tradition. Taking its energy from the diversity of its base city: Sao Paulo, Cisne Negro's style explores and integrates seemingly diverse elements: Brazilian black and folk tradition meets modernity. Founded in 1977 by Hulda Bittencourt, Cisne Negro ("black swan" in Portuguese) is a Brazilian treasure.
All performances are held at the Aspen District Theatre unless otherwise noted, located in the Aspen Elementary School on Maroon Creek Road. From Highway 82, take the roundabout to Maroon Creek Road. Take the first left into the Aspen School District campus parking lot.
