Celebrate Independence Day in Aspen!

Aspen celebrates the 2010 Independence Day with an old fashioned twist as approximately 20,000 residents and visitors come together to honor the nation's birthday in true American style. Festivities include a parade, U.S. Air force jet flyby, concerts, a kid's bicycle rodeo, and spectacular fireworks over Aspen Mountain.

Schedule of Events

Saturday, July 3:

  • 8am - 3pm: Saturday Market
    Hopkins Ave. and Hunter St. Enjoy shopping this outdoor market featuring 70 vendors: fresh produce and meat, flowers, clothing, leather, CO wine, jewelry, and numerous artisan products.

  • 4:30pm: Chamber Music, Harris Concert Hall Tickets $46. Aspen Music Festival and School
  • 8:30pm: Natalie Cole "Still Unforgettable" at the Benedict Music Tent. Tickets $60-$250 available at Jazz Aspen Snowmass.

Sunday, July 4:

  • 8 am: Boogie's Diner Buddy 5 Mile Race
    Register before May 31st $40 per adult on-line only; day of $50. Kids 16 and under $15.
  • 9:15 am: One-Mile Family/Canine Walk Race
    $80 per family includes 2 adults & 2 children (each additional related child is $15). $5 per dog. Registration forms available at Boogie's Diner or on-line at www.buddyprogram.org or www.active.com. The Buddy Program, 970-920-2130.
  • 10 am: Kids' Bicycle Decorating at Paepcke Park

  • 10am-2:30 pm: Tenth Annual "America's Birthday Carnival"
    Early Learning Center's kids'carnival in Paepcke Park featuring games, BBQ, silent auction, and bake sale. Early Learning Center, 970-920-9201
  • Noon: Old Fashioned Fourth of July Parade
    Watch as the Parade with all the kids, horses, firetrucks, and more winds its way downtown. See the route map below.
  • 1pm: AVSC 14th Annual Community Picnic
